Nguyen Dang Trong, 26, was prosecuted and detained by the Da Nang City Police Investigation Agency on 17/3 for investigation into robbery. He was arrested about 6 hours after the incident.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on 15/3. The 66-year-old woman was cutting vegetables in a field in Ha Dua residential area, Dien Ban Dong ward, when a young man approached her from behind. He choked her, covered her mouth, and demanded money. When the victim cried out, the assailant continued his attack, snatching a gold earring weighing about 5 phan, valued at nearly 8 million dong, before fleeing on a motorbike.

During the struggle, the woman used her vegetable knife to stab the suspect in the hand.

Authorities identified the suspect as Trong, who was known to local authorities for drug-related issues.
