Village head indicted for unauthorized sale of 16 land plots

The party cell secretary and village head have been indicted, accused of illegally selling 16 land plots over a decade ago, generating 1.2 billion VND and causing 870 million VND in state losses.

On 17/3, Bac Ninh Provincial Police announced that its economic police department had initiated criminal proceedings against Dinh Dong Phien, 73, and Vu Quang Phuc, 69, both residents of Tu Ne village, Luong Tai commune. They are being investigated for abuse of power while on duty. The incident occurred in Tu Ne village from 2011 to 2014.

According to the police, during that period, Phuc served as the party cell secretary and Phien as the village head in Tu Ne village. The two men established the policy and carried out the unauthorized sale of 16 land plots, totaling 3,730 square meters, generating 1.2 billion VND.

This action allegedly caused losses of over 870 million VND to state assets and land buyers.
