According to a leader from Ngoc Trao Commune People's Committee, the accident occurred around 9 a.m. in Eo Ban village. The victims were Mai Van Han and his wife, Vu Thi Nguyen, both over 80 years old.

Initial reports indicate that while cleaning a fish tank, which featured a rockery and was enclosed by a steel mesh in front of their level-4 house, Mr. Han was accidentally electrocuted. Upon seeing her husband in distress, Mrs. Nguyen rushed to his aid and was also struck by the electrical current.

A neighbor, noticing something amiss, raised an alarm and helped transport the couple to the hospital for emergency care. However, both victims succumbed to their injuries.

At the time of the accident, their children and grandchildren were all at work, so no one was present to discover the incident promptly.

Local authorities are currently collaborating with functional agencies to examine the scene and investigate the cause of the incident.
