Around 10:25 a.m., local residents discovered smoke and flames in the Bon Mua cafe, approximately 70 square meters, located in Area 5A, Ngo Duong Street. The cafe was closed at the time.
In just five minutes, the fire engulfed the cafe and spread to neighboring businesses: clothing stores, seafood shops, motorcycle repair shops, and general stores. These shops were all single-story buildings constructed with steel frames and corrugated iron roofs.
Some individuals attempted to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers and move property, but they were hindered by the fire and black smoke.
The Hai Phong City Police Fire Prevention and Fighting Department deployed five fire trucks, an excavator, and dozens of officers, who coordinated with ward police and residents to battle the blaze.
By after 11 a.m., firefighters had contained the blaze after it spread to six buildings. While the incident caused no human casualties, much property was destroyed.
