In the cool weather of the year-end days, hundreds of residents from Hoa Long commune, Lai Vung district, put aside their farm work to join the inauguration ceremony of Hope Bridges 437 and 438.
The two newly completed bridges are over 40 m long, 4 m wide, and have a load capacity of 3 tons. The bridges had a construction cost of 830 million dong, with the Hope Foundation sponsoring 240 million dong for the two projects from fundraising sales by students of FPT Polytechnic College. The remaining amount was matched by the local authority.
"With concrete bridges, residents no longer worry about difficult travel, and agricultural products are less likely to be undercut. A sturdy bridge connecting the two banks has been a long-cherished dream for people in the region," a representative of Hoa Long commune leadership shared.

About 60 km away, in Thap Muoi district, Hope Bridge 431 was also officially opened to traffic, creating a highlight for the new rural appearance. The project connects Hamlet 4 and Hamlet 6B of Truong Xuan commune, measuring 35 m long, 3,5 m wide, and having a load capacity of 5 tons.
In this vast rice cultivation area, the bridge holds practical significance for transporting agricultural materials and large quantities of rice, helping farmers reduce costs and increase profits.
Mr. Phan Duy Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Truong Xuan commune, assessed that the project not only helps students get to school safely, reducing traffic accident risks on Provincial Road 844, but is also a meaningful project to welcome the 14th National Party Congress.
On 27/1, the Hope Foundation also inaugurated bridge number 368 and commenced three other bridges (including Hope Bridge 442 in Tan Hoa commune), bringing the total number of projects in this phase to seven bridges.
