On april 24, the National Assembly approved a Resolution on its 2027 oversight program. In addition to socio-economic issues, budget collection and expenditure, and anti-waste efforts, the 3rd Session (mid-2027) will see the National Assembly oversee the enforcement of judgments, temporary detention, pre-trial detention, environmental protection, and drug prevention and control.
Regarding key infrastructure projects, the National Assembly will supervise the implementation of resolutions for the Long Thanh international airport project, the North-South high-speed railway project, and the investment policy for the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway construction project. It will also review specific and special mechanisms and policies for developing urban railway networks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM).

Long Thanh airport is a national key project spanning approximately 5,000 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 337 trillion VND. By late 2025, some phase one components are expected to be completed and welcome their first flights.
In early march, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) announced that Vu The Phiet, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was temporarily detained by the Ministry of Public Security. He is under investigation for violating bidding regulations, causing particularly serious consequences, and accepting money to facilitate contractors winning bids.
On april 8, the Central Inspection Committee expelled Lai Xuan Thanh, former Party Secretary and former Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Nguyen Tien Viet from the Party. Their expulsion was due to violations of Party regulations and state law in performing their assigned duties, related to anti-corruption, anti-waste, and misconduct. The committee also proposed that competent authorities consider disciplinary action against Vu The Phiet.
During its 4th Session, the National Assembly will review a report on the specialized oversight results regarding "the implementation of policies and laws on the management and use of public assets as working offices after the restructuring of organizational apparatus and administrative units".
Additionally, the National Assembly will oversee the implementation of resolutions concerning special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in scientific and technological development, innovation, and national digital transformation. It will also review specific policies for the development of localities, including: Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Nghe An.
The National Assembly will also consider the investment policy for the construction of Ring Road 4 - Hanoi Capital Region; Ring Road 3 TP HCM; Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot expressway phase one; Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway phase one; and Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expressway phase one.
