According to a survey by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) on 22/4, travel demand for the holiday period has rapidly increased, with load factors on many tourist routes reaching 80-100%. Numerous flights to key tourist destinations were almost fully booked from the start of the holiday.
Several routes have seen economy class tickets sold out, including Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) - Phu Quoc, HCMC - Tuy Hoa, HCMC - Con Dao, and HCMC - Pleiku. Similar situations were observed for flights from Hanoi to Tuy Hoa, Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Dong Hoi. The high demand has led to prime time slots being sold out or only having high-fare classes remaining.
For return journeys, demand for flights back to Hanoi and HCMC gradually increases towards the end of the holiday. Due to two holidays occurring close together, the volume of returning passengers is more spread out but still concentrated on the two peak days of 2/5 and 3/5. Most flights returning to these two major cities have booking rates exceeding 80%, with many flights fully booked.
In contrast, main trunk routes like HCMC - Hanoi have lower load factors, at around 30-50%, offering passengers more choices for flight times during the peak period.
The CAAV reported that average ticket prices, including taxes and fees, for the initial days of the holiday increased by 5-8% compared to a week prior, depending on the route.

The Hanoi - Phu Quoc route reached a maximum of 5-5.5 million VND with Vietnam Airlines, and 3.5-5 million VND with Vietjet Air. The HCMC - Phu Quoc route typically ranged from 2-3.2 million VND. Flights from Hanoi to Cam Ranh fluctuated between 3.8-4.6 million VND.
On the Hanoi - HCMC trunk route, ticket prices commonly range from 3.8-4.5 million VND. Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways listed the highest prices, from 4.2 to 4.5 million VND; Vietjet Air from 3.5-4.2 million VND; and Vietravel Airlines from 3.6-4.1 million VND. Similarly, the Phu Quoc - Hanoi route was mostly fully booked in economy class on this peak day.
Meanwhile, routes from tourist destinations returning to HCMC still offer more options, with prices ranging from 2.1 to 3.4 million VND depending on the airline and route, though these have also significantly increased compared to regular days.
