According to the Ho Chi Minh City Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects (TCIP), the investor, the overall progress of the entire route within the city's jurisdiction, spanning over 47 km, currently stands at about 75%.
The elevated section, nearly 15 km long, passing through the former Thu Duc City, has reached about 82% completion, exceeding the general average. In contrast, packages in the western areas, through the former Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, and Binh Chanh districts, have only reached about 67% progress. This lag is primarily due to a long-term shortage of backfill sand and construction stone.

In the western region, over 50% of the route's length has completed soft soil treatment and moved to subsequent construction phases. The remaining sections continue to undergo settlement monitoring, awaiting soil stabilization before pavement work begins.
The investor stated that contractors face significant pressure from rising input costs, particularly fuel prices, which have led to simultaneous increases in the prices of sand, stone, asphalt, and transportation. These factors directly impact the overall progress, pushing the completion deadline for the entire route to late 2026.
Some sections may open earlier, such as the segment through the former Thu Duc City, expected to be opened to traffic in late June, and the section through the former Cu Chi district, in late September.

To compensate for the delay, TCIP is coordinating with contractors and material quarries to ensure supply. The board is also flexibly allocating material volumes among construction units. Additionally, the investor has proposed that authorities promptly update and adjust construction prices and price indices to reflect market fluctuations, thereby reducing financial pressure on contractors.
The Ho Chi Minh City Beltway 3 project has a total investment of over 75,300 billion dong and spans over 76 km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Long An (now Tay Ninh). The project commenced in 6/2023, initially aiming for completion by mid-2026. However, in addition to Ho Chi Minh City, some sections in other localities have also fallen behind schedule, with expected completion dates also shifting to the end of the year.
