Prime minister asks new government to get straight to work

Immediately after its consolidation, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung urged government members to promptly implement tasks and substantially cut administrative procedures to support citizens and businesses.

On the morning of 9/4, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chaired the first meeting of the Standing Board of the Government's Party Committee and the Government Standing Board for the 2026-2031 term. He emphasized the need for government members to get straight to work, effectively addressing both urgent and long-term tasks.

Regarding the action program to implement the Central Committee's Conclusion No. 18, which pertains to the socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt borrowing and repayment, and medium-term investment for the 2026-2030 period, the Prime Minister assigned the Government Office to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance. Their task is to review, supplement, and update the program for early submission to the Government. Ministries and agencies are also directed to finalize their action programs, aiming for completion by April.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Justice to lead efforts in continuously reviewing and substantially cutting business conditions and administrative procedures to support citizens and businesses.

To resolve difficulties for stalled projects, the Prime Minister instructed the Government Office and the Ministry of Finance to coordinate with ministries, agencies, and localities to finalize the Government's report. This report, detailing the results of past resolutions, will be submitted to competent authorities. The Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang to direct this effort.

The Prime Minister also called for continued proposals of solutions to resolve remaining obstacles. The goal is to promptly deploy resources for development, ensuring energy security and achieving a double-digit growth target.

The head of the Government instructed agencies to finalize the Government's Working Regulations and consolidate the standing agency of the Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Project 06 next week. The Working Regulations must innovate thinking, methods, and enhance the operational efficiency of the apparatus.

On the afternoon of 7/4, the National Assembly passed a Resolution electing Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Commission, as Prime Minister for the 2026-2031 term. One day later, the National Assembly approved the appointment of new government members, comprising six deputy prime ministers and 17 ministers and heads of agencies, totaling 23 members.
