A two-story house on Truong Chinh street in Ho Chi Minh City was engulfed in flames on the evening of 16/5. The fire, which broke out around 7 p.m., caused significant property damage but no casualties.
The blaze originated on the first floor of the approximately 60 m2 house, located behind the Tan Chau parish in Bay Hien ward. A young woman inside the home discovered the fire and immediately alerted neighbors. Together, they attempted to extinguish the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful as the fire rapidly spread.

Mr. Hung, a resident living nearby, recounted that local residents and the neighborhood group brought over a dozen fire extinguishers to help. However, the inferno quickly intensified. "Black smoke with a burning smell covered the entire alley, forcing many families to carry their young children out," Mr. Hung said.
According to local residents, the house is home to a couple and their 5 children. At the time of the incident, only the eldest daughter was present.
Numerous fire trucks and over 20 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Due to the house's location deep within a narrow alley, measuring just over one meter wide, emergency personnel had to extend hoses deep inside to contain the blaze.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control after approximately 20 minutes. While no human lives were lost, a significant amount of property and furniture inside the house was destroyed.
