Leaders of Tan Phu commune (formerly Tan Ky district) announced on 15/2 that an inter-agency inspection team ordered the bakery owner to cease operations for an investigation. Health officials are collecting ingredient and food samples for analysis to determine the cause. The bakery's reopening will depend on the authorities' final conclusion.
The incident began on 11/2 when over 10 local residents bought and ate bread from the establishment. Approximately three hours later, they simultaneously developed typical food poisoning symptoms: headache, high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Patients quickly sought emergency care at the Tan Ky District Medical Center and the commune health station.

Doctors diagnosed the patients with signs of digestive intoxication. They immediately administered intravenous fluids and provided treatment following an anti-toxin protocol. Currently, some individuals' health has stabilized, and they have been discharged for home monitoring.
The bakery has operated in the area for about one year.
Following the incident, on 14/2, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) issued a directive to the Nghe An Department of Health. The directive urged an urgent investigation, including tracing the origin of raw ingredients. The department also called on local authorities to prioritize patient care, strictly address any violations, and publicly disclose findings to reassure residents.
