The "Thoi Tiet Viet Nam KTTV" application, developed by the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, offers real-time weather data and crucial disaster warnings. Launched on 7/4, the free application is available on both iOS and Android platforms, aiming to equip users nationwide with accurate weather information and early alerts for dangerous phenomena. It leverages data from over 2,600 national observation stations, 8 weather radar stations, and numerical forecast models to deliver up-to-date information.
The application updates rainfall, temperature, humidity, and wind data every 10 minutes, allowing users to closely monitor weather conditions at their exact location. Beyond current weather, it provides forecasts for up to 10 days, displayed in 3-hour cycles. The meteorological sector's calculation systems generate these forecasts, ensuring reliability.

A key feature of the application is its real-time dangerous weather warning system. Phenomena such as thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain, flash floods, landslides, and tropical depressions are continuously updated and directly displayed on the main interface. Specifically, the flash flood and landslide warning feature is geographically tailored, categorizing three risk levels to help users identify dangers and take responsive measures. The thunderstorm and lightning warning system utilizes lightning location data for early detection of areas with strong electrical activity.
The application also allows users to search for weather information in all communes and wards across the country. Users can save up to 10 locations for regular monitoring. The meteorological agency announced that future versions will include additional rain and storm warning maps, along with other utilities, to better meet user needs.
"Thoi Tiet Viet Nam KTTV" is currently available on iOS and Android, and is provided free of charge.
