Military officer salaries to increase from 1/7

Military officers will see their salaries rise starting 1/7, as the base salary is adjusted to 2,53 million dong per month; a general will receive the highest salary of 26,3 million dong.

From july 1, the government will implement a new base salary of 2,53 million dong per month, an 8,2% increase from the current rate. This adjustment serves as the basis for modifying salaries and allowances for officials, public servants, civil servants, and armed forces personnel.

For military officers, a general will receive the highest salary, increasing from 24,3 million dong to 26,3 million dong per month, excluding allowances. A senior lieutenant general's salary will rise from 22,9 million dong to 24,8 million dong; a lieutenant general's from 21,5 million dong to 23,3 million dong; and a major general's from 20,1 million dong to 21,8 million dong.

Officers in lower ranks will also see their salaries adjusted proportionally according to the new salary coefficients. A corporal, holding the lowest rank, will have their monthly salary increase from 7,5 million dong to 8,1 million dong.

Professional military personnel and cryptographic specialists will receive a maximum monthly salary of approximately 19,5 million dong, an increase of about 1,5 million dong from the current amount. The lowest salary for this group will increase from nearly 7 million dong to approximately 7,5 million dong.

National defense workers will see their highest monthly salary reach about 16,8 million dong, while the lowest will be around 7,3 million dong.

This salary adjustment coincides with the nationwide increase in the base salary to 2,53 million dong per month, effective from july 1.
