At approximately 7:40 h, a Ninh Binh-plated four-seater taxi was traveling on Khuat Duy Tien street towards Thang Long boulevard. As it approached the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection, the vehicle's front passenger wheel suddenly fell into a sewer, becoming stuck in the middle of the road.
It was raining at the time, and the drainage cover was broken. Nearly half of the wheel was submerged in the round sewer pipe, which measured approximately 60 cm in diameter. The incident occurred during morning rush hour, causing significant traffic congestion on the street.

Road Traffic Police Team No. 7 dispatched officers to coordinate with Thanh Xuan Ward Police and staff from the Drainage Enterprise to resolve the situation. By approximately 8:10 h, authorities removed the taxi from the scene. A warning sign was also placed over the broken sewer cover.
One day prior, on Nguyen Trai street, a truck unexpectedly fell into a hole, requiring an excavator to pull it out. On 9/4, also on Nguyen Trai street, a truck fell into a hole when passing in front of house number 72. The road section where the subsidence occurred had just been restored by the construction unit after completing an inner-city anti-flooding project.
